I have been searching all day for words that will speak to the anguish this child is experiencing. I have been watching children weep over their dead from unfettered violence for days now, from country to country and conflict to conflict. I have forced myself to watch them and to hold them virtually. Their tears beg the question, "What will come of me now, and why would anyone do this horrible thing to me and my loved one?"...Innocence gone...their weeping replaced with a blank stare of hopelessness. Many folks have recommended that I give up hope for a better world, and surrender to the belief that this pain is just a sign of the times. They say my focus should be on preparing my soul and the souls of others for heaven...but when I look into the eyes of these children and hear the depth of their sorrow, I cannot, we cannot look beyond them for heaven. Sympathy is not the remedy either, they need justice...not in the by and by but in the here and now!
Human Family, we are not helpless. There is more good in the earth than evil. For Good's sake, for God's sake get up, get out and do justice!
